Shrink Embroidery is an effective technique to enhance the texture, richness and perceived value of garments, and is now very easy to do using CHIZIMI Shrink Embroidery Thread.
CHIZIMI Shrink Thread was developed to shrink when hit with heat from an iron. The thread, and thus the fabric, shrinks by approximately 30%, creating a beautiful pleating affect.
As can be seen in the before and after photos, the effect is very dramatic:

To create the effect a pattern is embroidered onto the fabric using the CHIZIMI thread as the bobbin thread.
When the fabric is removed from the table and ironed on the underside with a steam iron set at a minimum of 248 degrees Fahrenheit, the magic happens right before your eyes. The thread shrinks and leaves uneven and curved surfaces, creating a beautiful effect. It is easy and very flexible.
